The Next Big Thing is Here!

Beauty for Ashes 7In July we hosted a silent auction to benefit AIM – Agape International Missions.

Five girls, learning to sew five bags in five days from only the remnants of our abundant American life. Five lives stitching together something even more beautiful than they ever imagined:

A benefit auction that raised over $700 for girls in Cambodia suffocating in the stifling reality of a sex-trafficked life!

 So we did it again in August, only this time we:

Raised over $1000 for AIM!

That’s $1000 for girls like Ya, and Mien, and Mi who struggle to find the strength just.to.breath through another day of pandering pedophiles, sexual exploitation, and abject poverty. And now it’s time to get you involved. Yes! I said YOU.

We’re hosting our first ever

Beauty for Ashes Craft Fair

right here in my Northern Virginia living room

Saturday, November 22nd

{that’s only 6 weeks away!}

100% of the proceeds go direct to our sisters in Cambodia, and all tables feature YOUR blessed, beautiful creations. {Yes, Yours! It can be anything you dream up as long as you use at least 50% remnant material}

All it takes is a gathering the remnants, the discarded remains, and the left-overs of our abundant American life and forming the forgotten into something fabulous – fashioning a tangible metaphor of the lives we hope to change.

You could make this:

3 Step Fleece Pillowcases: so easy, my 5 year old is just starting to want to learn to sew. This would be a great project for her to do with me while sitting on my lap!or these:

DIY ~ headbands or any assortment of up-cycled projects like these:

Recycled Project - Old wood & yarn.

Don’t think you’ve go the creative energy it takes to whip up a few beauties?  But you still want to get involved?  We need you too!  {I can’t decorate this house, or send out invites, or cash out all the sales AND host the event all by myself.  I need YOU.} Together we can combat captivity with creativity. Together we can see the day when all who mourn and all who grieve will receive the crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair {Isaiah 61}.
